Kai started all day Kindergarten this year. He is doing well. We received his first report card and he got straight A+'s in all of the available categories. School isn't his most favorite thing, however he is doing well. Maybe over time he will enjoy it more. I love that Kai is going to school. I love hearing and seeing what he is learning. He is learning to write in cursive, he is adding and he comes home and tells me all about Christopher Columbus and the Equator. I love it! He learns all of these fun songs. And I get to have some alone time with Liam and my house is actually staying clean for half of the day.

Liam is so funny. Every day he makes me laugh. I just wish he was a little more cuddly. I have to get him down and tickle him to death just so I can get a hug from him. He loves to dance. We got this skeleton that plays the banjo for Halloween and Liam will bust a move to it. He looks like a hick from Arkansas jamming to the banjo. And then I have him dancing to the song "Dem Bones" (he is dancing in his underwear). It is so funny. Blackmail, when he's older.

Kai just had to be a worm for Halloween. I tried really hard to talk him out of it. I almost got him to be a cowboy. But he really wanted to be a worm. He wanted to be a worm because it was related to science. Last year he was a scientist. I'm wondering what he's going to make me make him next year.... The worm costume was really hard to make (it took three days), however it was so worth it! Kai kept telling me how much he loved it!!!

Liam on the other hand was very easy. He wanted to be a bee. I was going to make it, however I was walking in Target and I happen to see the cutest bumble bee costume. Then I noticed it was a costume meant for an XL dog! That is right, it was a dog costume. I thought about it for 2 days and then I went back and bought Liam and XL Bumble Bee Dog costume. :)

Saturday I took Kai to his swim lesson. I had a huge headache all morning. I kept complaining about it. So, Kai started saying he had a headache. So, I told him no you don't have a headache. You are young and healthy, you don't have a headache. He told me, "Mom you are young". I thought you are so sweet!!! I love him.

I was watching the news w/ Kai one day and they had a thing on hospitals. Kai said I don't ever want to go to the doctors. I said you can't always get out of it. Sometimes you have to go. By the way you are going when you turn 4 in June. He said, who am I going to see? I said Dr. Vierra. You like her remember. He looked at me seriously, "Is she going to "shot" me? I just laughted.

I made enchiladas for the first time for the family last night. Kai LOVED them! He said Mom, I love these! I didn't know I loved Chinese food. He is so funny.

Two days until his swim lessons start. He is so excited. I hope he learns a lot.

Liam is such a smart, beautiful baby. But, wow! He can be mean and stubborn when he want to be. I need to add pictures to our blog. I have been slacking in that area. Our internet isn't working at home and that is where all of our pictures are. So once that is up and running I will add more pics.

Kai woke up this morning and said, "Mom the sun is open today".

I bought him a little dinosaur from the coin machines at the grocery store. It was very, very small. I told Kai it doesn't really look like a dinosaur. He said yeah, it kind of looks like an aphid.

Liam was so sick this weekend. A temp of 103.5 and his belly hurt so much. He couldn't go number 2, so he was walking around in pain. I felt so bad for him. He is doing much better now, it's amazing what a trip to the drug store can produce. :) He back to his old self...hitting everyone.

I am reading an amazing book right now called, Return from Tomorrow by George Richie. Thanks Wess for giving me the book. You are an amazing spirit.

What's going on with Liam

Liam is saying so many new words. It seems like every day he has new words to show me. He is very independent! He doesn't want his diaper changed. He wont let you feed him. Don't hold his hand...wait, just don't hold him period! Oh, but he will sit next to you...just don't hold him. He loves playing cars w/ Kai and he loves to read books.

Kai wants Jack (the dog) to babysit Liam....

Kai really wants to get these two cars. One is Chick Hicks and the other is The King from the movie cars. So he tells me his plan last night about 8:00pm. He says this is my plan. We put Liam to sleep, Jack (the dog) can stay w/ him and watch him. Then me and you can go to the store and buy Chick Hicks and The King.

4-6 Cavities!!!

I was floored when the dentist told me that Kai has between 4-6 cavities (one is almost a root canal)! I brush and floss his teeth everyday!!! Poor little Kai doesn't understand what he has to go through the next time he goes to the dentist. He loves going to the dentist. They will be sedating him when we get these cavities filled (thank goodness). He loves brushing his teeth and going to the dentist. The dentist is going to put him on fluoride vitamins to help his teeth. I hope that helps.

I'm back!!! It's been way to long since I have blogged. Well I'm repenting and I'm going to start a new. Where should I start. The kids are getting bigger and funnier by each passing moment. Liam is 16 months and he is really starting to talk. I love it! So does Kai, he is alway trying to get Liam to say new words. Kai is so nurturing towards his little brother, I love it. Don't get me wrong, he still makes him cry (he smoothers him w/ love). Kai is a very passionate 3 yr old. He love dinosaurs, animals, insects and dirty jobs. He is a big help around the house, his new thing is he like to clean his room.....yes you heard me right, he likes to clean his room.

I have started working again. I work 4 hrs a day and I love getting out of the house. It's like a paid vacation...ha ha. I think the kids and Daddy are enjoying the alone time together too.

I'm liking this whole blogging thing again. This should be fun. :)

Liam - Almost 5 months

1. Liam is really starting to be fun. He starting to show off his personality. He loves to cuddle w/ me on the floor and giggle.
2. He really wants to stand up and see things. Tomorrow I'm going to go and buy him an exersaucer.
3. He is taking better naps during the day...the night not so much. He still wake up 2-4 times a night.
4. I need to start pulling out the 6-9 month clothes for him. He is getting really big. He weight 16.5 at his 4 mo doctors visit. (He is big, but Kai was bigger at 4mos. -- 17.3).

Liam (will be 4 months next week)

2. Aaron asked Kai, do you want insurance? Kai says, "for the doctors" (how many 2yr olds know that insurance is for the doctors).
3. I put a blanket on Kai in the middle of the night so he wouldn't get cold...and he says "MATER". (It's on Cars, you have to see it!)

Liam R. Simon was born September 14, 2008 at 4:51 Am. I thought he would never come, however he finally did. He was 22 inches long and weight 8.6 pounds. It was a great delivery, Aaron and I were shocked at how fast it went. Much different from our first born. Liam has tons of black hair and he is a good baby. Kai loves Liam tremendously! I was really worried about Kai and how he would handle this new person in our family. Here are some picture to look at. Enjoy!

Summer Time

This summer has been so much fun. We bought a membership to the Zoo and we have gone almost every Saturday. Everyone in our family absolutley loves going there...especially Kai. Kai turned 2 in June and you would not believe how much he is talking. This kid is amazing. I'm finally on maternity leave from work. I am so glad. I am just so tired during this pregnancy, I need a break. I think we have decided on a name for the new baby. (It's always subject to change...until it's on the birth certificate). Liam Patrick Simon. Yes, like the actor. Don't ask me where it came from, I just like to pull these things out of a hat.

I could go on and on about Kai and how much he is growing and developing but I'm sure that would bore you. So here are some pictures from this summer.

I use to be afraid of 2 yr olds. Now they are they are my most favorite thing in the world. Kai turns two on June 18th. We are having so much fun w/ him. He is talking a ton. We go to the Zoo every Saturday and we ALL love it. I love that we can go and do thing w/ Kai now and we have so much fun. We just got his pictures done for his 2nd birthday. Enjoy!

X-Files

I'm about to veer away from my most favorite subject....Kai. This next subject is probably the next closest thing to the Simon Family's heart. The X-Files!

About 4 years ago Aaron came up to me and said someone lent him a copy of the first season of the X-files; "do you want to watch it?" I told him, not really...I don't like that sci-fi CRAP. Well, eventually he talked me into watching it and I loved it (we both loved it). But there was a problem, we only had the first season. What were we to do? (the DVD's were on the market but they were $150 a season). So, one day I was at work talking to one of the Tax managers. Her and I hadn't really spoken too much. I was telling her that we started watching the X-files and we loved it. I said I know that there is some crazy person out there that has all 8 seasons recorded on VHS. And she said, well...I am one of those crazy people. She had all 8 seasons recorded. She (Ellen) let Aaron and I watch all of them. We were obsessed. We would stay up all night watching them. We finished all 8 seasons in three months. That was the best bonding Aaron and I ever had (excluding the birth of our son). He he.

Well, that was four years ago. During that time we heard rumors that they were going to make another movie and we have waited, and waited, and waited. FINALLY...it is here!!! July 25, 2008 the second X-files movie will be released. Not just Aaron and I, but the whole Simon Family, we are so excited July seams like forever away.

Kai is 17 months. Every day he surprises me. He knows so much. He know the sounds that a dog, cow and a cat make. Last night he came up to me and started pulling on my shorts. He preceded to lead me into the kitchen and put his sippy cup on the counter where I normally get him a drink of milk. He basically had a conversation w/ me and he didn't even say a word. He said "Mom, come into the kitchen I would like you to fill up my sippy because I need a drink". Here are some recent pics. Love ya' all. And have a great Thanksgiving!!!

Kai is such a joy to our live. He is always so happy. He learns new things every day. He knows almost all of his body parts. He loves being outside and playing w/ Mommy and Jack (the dog). He is going to be a frog and a dragon for Halloween. Kai has always been a very indepentant child, however just recently he has been very clingy to me (Mommy). I'm not sure if it because he is getting 8 (yes, I said 8) teeth or it's just that age. I don't mind it, however I can't let him do it too much--I don't want him to be a "momma's boy".

This first picture was shown on "Good Day Utah" for his first birthday. It was his first TV experience.

Kai really enjoyed his first birthday cake. He started off slowly but once he got into it....well I will let the picture tell the rest. It was so much fun having all of his family there. Thank you everyone who came; and saw my baby turn one.

He is standing really well now. He takes a step every now and then. He knows where is nose, lips and ears are. He can Patty Cake and Itsy, Bitsy Spider all day long.

Viva Las Vegas...

We took a trip down to Las Vegas. Kai did a great job during the drive down. He is a good traveller. We went swimming at the hotel. It was Kai's first time swimming. He liked it, however he didn't want to get to far from Mommy. We went to the strip and did some sight seeing. Of course we went to In and Out Burger several times. We had a really great time. We all got to see Clint (Grandpa).

Kai was really really sick last week. His temperature was 105 degrees! So Aaron and I took him to the doctors and they ran a bunch of horrible test on him. They took a chest x-ray, urine sample, blood sample and a nose swab. Kai didn't like any of this. They came to the conclusion that he had a virus. He was so sad. The only thing he wanted to do was to cuddle up to Mommy and Daddy. I am happy to report...he is doing much better now. :)

I was playing w/ Kai and I looked down and I found another tooth in his mouth. There was no signs he was teething. It just popped out of now where. He currently has a total of 5 teeth now. My mom says he is almost ready for a big steak.

I can't believe my baby is crawling!!! Heaven help us. He is also starting to climb. I think the real work is about to begin.

I do have to say it has been a blast watching Kai grow and develope. It seems like every day or even every minutes he is learning something new. Currently, he can only move forward. I'm sure it wont be long before he finds the "Forward" button.

Kai has no clue he is about to get three shots at the doctors office. Poor little guy. We went for his 6 mo. check up and he is a healthy little guy. His growth is slowing down a little, which is good. He'd be monster if he kept the speed he was growing at when he was first born.

Kai has been sitting up for 2 1/2 weeks now. He still is a loose cannon...you can't trust him to sit by himself. It is fun sitting on the couch with him and watching Northen Exposure.
